Meet Dr. Leedy
Dr. Nathaniel Leedy received his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. After college, his sense of adventure and desire to help others inspired him to join the Peace Corps where he volunteered his time protecting marine ecosystems in the Federated States of Micronesia and Republic of Palau. When he returned home, he earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, he completed an AEGD residency program and served as an active duty officer in the United States Navy Dental Corps. After Dr. Leedy’s military commitment expired, he practiced dentistry as an associate for several years before taking over the practice of Dr. Elizabeth Rushin after her retirement.
Dr. Leedy followed in the footsteps of his father who has practiced dentistry for over 40 years in Pennsylvania. With experience in all phases of dentistry, Dr. Leedy offers his patients a comprehensive treatment approach. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Spear Study Club. He has completed hundreds of hours continuing education to keep up with the latest advancements in dentistry so that he is able to provide the best possible care to his patients.
Says Dr. Leedy, “I look forward to practicing dentistry every day. I love what I do. It never seems like work to me. I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands and fixing things. Dentistry allows me to do the things I most enjoy and to help people feel better about themselves in the process. Dentistry is such an exciting profession right now with advancements in digital technology that have made dental procedures more precise and predictable. Digital scanners, 3D x-rays, soft tissue lasers, just to name a few. This technology has improved the patient experience, making dental visits more comfortable and efficient. My team and I have embraced this digital technology and our patients love it. It is part of what I think makes our office unique. We are a modern, full-service dental office with a down-to-earth, relaxed feel.”
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Leedy’s interests include home improvement projects, family hikes, gardening, and scuba diving. Dr. Leedy is happily married to his lovely wife, Mai. They live in Raleigh with their two sons, their lab/hound mix, and a happy flock of chickens.
