Advanced Technology

3D Cone Beam X-Ray

Our Green CT Cone Beam is an advanced x-ray system that provides high-quality images with lower radiation using cutting-edge image processing technology. Dental Cone Beam images are in 3D and therefore provide more information than a conventional 2D dental x-ray. The result is superior diagnostic imaging that allows us to view your mouth from different angles and visualize much more than conventional x-rays. We use the Cone Beam to take 3D x-rays in instances where we are looking for a hard to find tooth problem or when we want to take specific bone and tooth measurements for a dental procedure.

Getting a Cone Beam scan is much more comfortable than conventional x-rays. There is no need to place awkward film or sensors inside the mouth. The machine scans entirely outside the mouth quickly and is great for patients who have a touchy gag reflex or small mouth and struggle with traditional x-rays.

Digital X-rays

Dental x-rays are an invaluable aid in routine diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for digital dental x-rays is extremely minimal. Our office uses digital x-rays, reducing exposure time by almost 50 percent when compared to traditional film. Digital x-rays are able to be viewed by the doctor and patient on computer monitors in the treatment room.

Digital Impressions

Our Trios3 Digital Scanner from 3Shape scans the inside of the mouth to render a detailed 3D color image of your teeth and gums in seconds. The 3D rendering is an extremely accurate depiction of the mouth that has countless applications. It can be used for digital impressions that can be sent electronically to our dental lab for the fabrication of crowns, veneers, partials, etc. It can also serve as a tool to track the progress of teeth being straightened for orthodontics. Or it may be used as foundation to virtually rebuild a patient smile using our Smile Design Software.

Intraoral Photography

Dr. Leedy utilizes intraoral camera technology that helps enhance your understanding of your diagnosis. An intraoral camera is a very small camera that allows the Doctor and patient view clear, precise images of your mouth, teeth and gums, in order for us to accurately make a diagnosis. With clear, defined, enlarged images, you see details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations. This can mean faster diagnosis with less chair-time for you!

Intraoral cameras also enable our practice to save your images in our office computer to provide a permanent record of treatments. These images can be printed for you, other specialists, and your lab or insurance companies.

Soft Tissue Laser Therapy

Our soft tissue laser has many treatment applications. At lower settings it can be used to deliver a painless and effective anti-bacterial therapy used to eliminate pathogens that cause ulcers and redness and bleeding in the gums. At higher intensities, it can be used to remove infected tissue and sterilize regions of the mouth to stimulate healing and promote new, healthy tissue. With the soft tissue laser treatment is fast, painless and very safe.
